First pour
The doors slide open, the water starts running down the long stone table, and the first espresso goes to whoever beat the sunrise crowd. Usually a diver. Sometimes a jet-lagged family. Always someone happy.

Ao Nang · Krabi
All-day brunch on real sourdough. Coffee that tastes like Thailand. And the two golden desserts we're named after — served with ice cream, five minutes from the sand.

Six plates and glasses that built our reputation — beginning with the toast that outsells everything else on the menu.

The one. Our best-selling plate — sourdough, avocado, scrambled eggs, sun-dried tomato, bacon.

฿159
The dish our reviews mention most. Ripe mango, coconut sticky rice, a pinch of salt to keep it honest.

฿99
Lemongrass, ginger, chili, lime — tom yum soup reimagined as a sparkling iced coffee. Trust us.

฿189
“By far the best pancakes I’ve had in a long time,” said a guest on Tripadvisor. We agree.

฿239
Açaí, mixed berries, banana, yogurt — blended thick, topped generously, gone quickly.

฿149
The golden sweets we’re named after, with ice cream. Most visitors never get to try these. You will.
A day at the cafe
Every hour here has its own personality. These are the three we'd pick.

8:00
The doors slide open, the water starts running down the long stone table, and the first espresso goes to whoever beat the sunrise crowd. Usually a diver. Sometimes a jet-lagged family. Always someone happy.

11:00
Brunch hour. Sourdough from our baker, eggs still steaming, smoothie bowls the colour of the sea outside. The fish in the pond do laps. Nobody is in a hurry, including us.

16:30
The sun drops toward Nopparat Thara and the whole cafe turns the colour of thongyod. This is when we take our own break — mango sticky rice, one last coffee, the best light of the day.
Our name
Thongyib means "picked gold". Thongyod means "a drop of gold". They're the tiny egg-yolk sweets Thai families serve when something good is beginning — weddings, new homes, new ventures. We put them on our sign because that's the promise: come in, and let something small and golden happen to your morning.
